The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) provides this large site which defines CAM and classifies alternative medicine practice. The site also includes a description of the Center's program areas, information on research grants, a citation index of over 180,000 citations from Medline (1963-98); News and Events, and What's New pages. A good place to learn the current position of this government agency vis a vis alternative medicine.

Children with chronic health or serious illness. It is designed to be a powerful tool in helping children better cope with the challenges of dealing with disease, and is an interesting combination of medical information and research, and the entertainment industry. A few of the items available include a private online community of children and teens with chronic or serious illnesses, a 3-D animated game (with celebrity voices) that provides asthma education (and is free to children with asthma), and other interactive games on a variety of chronic disease topics.
